"WE BREED TO GIVE YOU GOOD QUALITY, HEALTHY FAMILY PETS"!!

All dogs are pets ~ But "GOLDENS" are family!
                                       " I AM A BREEDER"

I am a breeder
My food receipts for a family of 12 and my dog food bills match
My water bill has doubled
My electric has tripled
It is I, a breeder, who when my fridge quit, saved the dog meds and let the food go bad.
My feet find the way to the kennel before I have even grabbed a cup of coffee in the morning and the kennel is my last stop before bed.
While my friends are on a cruise to the Bahamas and my family meets for Christmas I am home delivering puppies
I haven't had a real vacation in 14 years, but maybe soon.
All plans are made around heat dates, whelp dates and vet dates.
I shower and 10 minutes later my kids say I smell like a dog
My clothes are all stained with fecal matter, urine, afterbirth or bleach

I have to remember to clean my shoes before church
Most of my friends breed dogs - who else can you call at 3 am for support?
Who else has the experience I sometimes need, the med I sometimes need, or just an uplifting word I sometimes need ?
Who else would understand how it feels to have invested hours and hours and hours in a weak puppy to lose it?
Or the joy in investing hours in one that lives?
I have slept on the floor beside a litter until the crucial 2 weeks have passed.
I have bottle fed a litter of 12..feeding every 2 hours and it taking 90 minutes to do for weeks at a time.
I have learned to be proficient at micro chipping, vaccinations, sub q fluids, bottle feeding and tube feeding.
my vet knows me by first name
the vet knows my children
the vet now knows my grand children
my vet knows it was I who added on the wing to the vet clinic
I am a breeder

It is to me that 63 days takes on new meaning still excited by every new life
it is I who delivers all my pups, towels and heat lamps on ready happiness and sadness sometimes intermingled
Even though it increases my work load, I look forward to the 10 day stage when eyes open, and puppies begin to emerge from the helplessness of newborns.
Puppy breath, a first bark, and a heart of exploration.
I am not uneducated, unemployable, illiterate or lazy as some Animal Rights folks would imply of breeders.
I am a conscientious lover of animals and I have found my niche.
I am a breeder.

And although I feel no shame there is a part of me that feels the need to hide from powers that could come to invade my home and take my dogs ...
maybe for finding a mild infraction, a leaf in the water dish?
A kennel not yet cleaned for the day?
A rash I am home treating?
I tell my children and grand children to hush, do not tell others we are dog breeders, and I wonder when did breeding puppies go into the same secret place as criminal activity?
I am a breeder and I am not cruel, dumb, uncaring or criminal.
I am not raking in money while sitting on my butt.
Every penny I make I earn through blood, sweat and tears.
My greatest joy is a healthy puppy and a wonderful home.
The cards of thanks and the pictures of my puppy with its new family is the fringe benefits of my efforts.
I am an animal lover, nurse, midwife, heavy laborer, customer service representative, and marketer.
AND I am a breeder.

WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF UPDATING SEVERAL PAGES OF OUR WEBSITE....
NEW CHANGES COMING SOON!!!
In 2006, my youngest graduated from high school and I was having major empty nest syndrome. My husband said go ahead and look for a puppy. The best day was when I found Camie's website and saw her gorgeous dogs. She had a litter that was born Dec 14 and there was a boy available. We went out to the kennel in February and picked out our Teddy. It was very difficult because they were all wonderful, sweet, responsive puppies. Three weeks later, Teddy came to live with us. He has been so easy to train--he's never had an accident in the house. He doesn't always like to come when he's called, but then neither did my kids. He's very healthy, happy and the sweetest tempered dog I've ever had. He goes to doggy day care once a week for the exceptional exercise and socialization and the staff there never wants him to leave. We are so thrilled with him that we are about to get our second Church Mountain Golden. Camie takes very good care in her breeding and raising of her dogs. Exceptional care is taken in personality and looks. All of her dogs are loved and it shows when you see them and her interaction with them. We love Church Mountain!!!

"HAPPINESS BY WAY OF CHURCH MTN KENNEL"!

Camie,
I would like to thank you for providing me with another Church Mtn. gem!! His name is Thor  and quite a character ..super smart, quick to learn and very..very handsome!! As you know my last Golden Maverick met with a terrible accident I debated on getting another Golden  but knew I had to have one again..There was no other choice but to get another from Camie so this spring the new pup arrived.

Having been a past Golden breeder some 25 yrs ago  I had not had a Golden for about 8 yrs...so I decided it was time for a buddy...having the internet to do research became very interesting  I was looking close to NC  for pups..probably narrowed down to 5 surrounding states. Then I started looking at kennels that really cared about the Golden lineage  and I kept coming back to Camies web site. So I called... and had a wonderful conversation with her exchanging some past info of mine and the Goldens I raised. I.. with her help agreed on a pup from Nugget & Candy  since I was seeking the darker Golden I had before.  Boy he turned out awesome!!!  and my times up at Church Mtn.  have been very informative and plus hrs.& hrs... of just talking Golden's.. and walking and looking at all her wonderful dog's !!! I will never be able to thank her enough for the treasures she has provided me with...but hope people will truly believe in her,her dog's and the effort she put's into making sure you have a faithful friend.

Church Mtns. Lord of Thunder is now 4 mo.old...38 lbs...jumps off the dock, swims like fish and has the most beautiful coat coming out!!!!

Thanks again !!

Church Mountain's I Want to Drive the Zamboni ~ Zam  (Glory x Tonka 10/1/11)
Who can resist a Golden Retriever puppy? After we lost our 14 1/2 yr old Golden, we started looking at website for a new addition to our family, our 4th Golden.  I was struck by the number of great pictures all over Camie's website of her pups.  Many of the websites I had looked at had very few pictures, and I loved being able to look at the potential pedigrees for the upcoming litters and the pictures of the Church Mountain Goldens.  In particular, I loved the pictures with Camie's family and the pups.  The moment we stepped into the pen to pick Zam out, we were covered with puppies. It was clear they had been very well socialized with people from their birth.  Zam picked us out; he bulled his way over and buried his head in my lap and that was all I needed. He has been a wonderful addition to our family.  To begin with, he is gorgeous - everything you want in a golden. We wanted a big boy and have gotten what we hoped for. On top of good looks, he is very, very smart and very, very responsive (not just our opinion, but the opinion of the dog trainer). Since the moment we brought him in our home, he has been at our feet, from minute 1; he is very attached to his people and very curious about his surroundings. He watches everything with a very intense, attentive look on his face, ears up, always watching.  I was concerned about the pups living outside initially, but when I arrived, I was reassured to see the pens and the warming areas and to see the rest of the extended dog family in large open areas where they could just enjoy being dogs!  Zam was loved where he was born and he is way too loved in his home!  If the time comes where we expand our family again, I would definitely come back to Church Mountain.

Hi Camie -

Who took my pudgy puppy and gave me a "dog"??  It seems it was a few
short weeks ago we were finding our way to Church Mountain to meet our
puppy, Kip.  Now summer is coming to a close (although it's hot & humid
in PA) and there's a 56 pound "Dog" sleeping at my feet. How'd that
happen?

Can I brag?  Kip is the very best dog...ever, ever, ever!  Kip is lively
during play time, chills out when it's time for resting, is a total
people magnet and is absolutely and totally goofy. Watching Kip explore
and discover his world has been an amazing experience- I feel blessed to
have shared it with him. Walking with Kip is like walking with a movie
star...neighbors can't wait to say hello to Kip, give him some love'n
and he returns the affection with complete enthusiasm. Several mornings
a week  Ed and Kip walk into town to sit at a cafe and as you can
imagine, Kip is treated as a royal guest.  Life with Kip is a joy! And
if I can speak for Kip, I think the feelings are mutual as he is always
at my side and I love that about him.

I have several pictures of Kip - hopefully there are no repeats from
previous pics that I sent.  I often check into your web site and am
always drawn to your pics of Dandy (I especially like the pic of Dandy
and your son).  I see a lot of Dandy in Kip as they both have a
beautiful coat - a swirl of white and buff- and their expressions are
gentle and wise. They are beauties!!  I didn't want to clog your email
so look for several more emails in which I downsized the pictures.

Hope all is well with you and your family.  And many new puppies on the
way!

Take good care

Eileen & Ed Redstreake & Kip

What do you do when you have 2 perfect Church Mountain Goldens? Why you get a third of course. Teddy, at almost 5 was a pretty sedate only dog. Then along comes Mr. Energy--Dexter and we really thought it would help increase Teddy's play. NOT. So we (I) decided Dexter needed a playmate. Enter puppy #3. He started out as Thor but within two weeks earned the name Loki--Norse God of Mischief.  He's a great addition to the family and Dexter loves to play with him. Teddy even gets in on the act on occasion. Our new boy is healthy, happy and full of fun. But then what else would you expect from a puppy from Camie??? Love them to pieces and wouldn't go anywhere else to get a Golden. Good job, Camie!

Cathy

My Dogs Live Here
My dogs live here, they're here to stay. You don't like pets,
be on your way. They share my home, my food, my space...
This is their home, this is their place.
You will find dog hair on the floor, they will alert you're at
the door. They may request a little pat, a simple "no" will
settle that. It gripes me when I hear you say, "just how is
it you live this way?" Who asked you?.. is all I'll say.
They love me more than anyone, my voice is like the rising
sun. They merely have to hear me say "Cmon it's time to go
and play." Then tails wag and faces grin, they bounce and
hop, and make a din. They never say "no time for you,"
they're always there, to go and do.
And if I'm sad? They're by my side, and if I'm mad they circle
wide. And if I laugh they laugh with me.. They understand,
they always see.
So once again I say to you, come visit me.. but know this to~
My dogs live here, they're here to stay. You don't like pets,
be on your way. They share my home, my food, my space...
This is their home, this is their place."
